Happy Tuesday friends! Whew, this weekend was a jam-packed one and yesterday was a day of r-e-c-o-v-e-r-y, but it was so much fun! Our weekend started on Thursday night with Disney’s Villains After Hours event at Magic Kingdom with our friends Taylor and Daniel, a super-fun water park grand opening on Friday, a quick ER visit (because why not?!) and that was just the start of it! We spent time at our new favorite Boxi Park twice, and even threw in some time at Disney. I told you, it was a fun-filled one!
Thursday night: Disney’s Villains After Hours party in Magic Kingdom
Thursday night we left Walter and Eloise with our babysitter and went to Disney’s Villains After Hours event at Magic Kingdom with our friends Taylor and Daniel, and we had the best time. In fact, we had so much fun that I didn’t even take photos- instead, I’ve got some gems from PhotoPass and a few rides to confirm that we were actually there! We all dressed in our villainous best and danced in front of Cinderella’s castle, rode a few rides with special effects for the villains party (Space Mountain was pitch black- it was amazing!), and ate/drank all of the special treats available that evening. Walter didn’t believe me, but there is proof in the video below that I did eat purple pasta. It was such a good night, and in less than eight hours we were all back together for another adventure!
Friday: Island H2O LIVE! grand opening party (and an ER visit)
Did I mention it was less than eight hours after the Villains After Hours party ended that we were back with Taylor and Daniel again? Bright and early at 8:30am was the grand opening of the Island H2O LIVE! water park at Margaritaville here in Orlando, and we were thrilled to be invited to such a fun event! The kids loved the water park, there was a slide/activity for every member of the family, and we are absolutely going back ASAP because we had to leave early… Eloise fell and hit her face (specifically her mouth) on a piece of metal outdoor furniture that warranted an ER visit because it was bleeding so much and for so long (like 3+ hrs long). We are so happy to say that Eloise’s mouth didn’t need stitches, and it looks like she won’t lose any of her baby teeth just yet; we’ll find out for sure when we go to the dentist this week. But whew! Talk about stressful! Like I said earlier, I’m ready to go back to Island H2O LIVE! without an ER visit, and I can’t wait to share more details about this fun spot! You can get a quick peek of my new favorite waterslide in the video below- hint, it’s rainbow!!
Saturday: morning at the park and evening at Boxi Park
Peter saw patients Saturday, so I took the kids to “choo choo train park” (Azalea Park in Winter Park) and let them play until it got too hot… and it got hot FAST! I didn’t take any photos, but there is some cute video of them on the swings in the video below!
Saturday evening Peter and I decided to try out a new place called Boxi Park in Lake Nona, and we are obsessed. This eatery/drinkery/live music park made of metal shipping containers (so cool!) is fun for the entire family, and it is 110% Weiss family approved! And get this: the live band was a NO DOUBT cover band that was incredible, and made my inner elementary/middle/high schooler the happiest… with a vodka tonic in one hand and a baby on my hip. It. Was. AMAZING. I’ve got a blog post publishing this week with all of the Boxi Park details and why you need to go if you live in Orlando, but for now take a peek at our Boxi Park family date night!
Sunday: Disney morning and Boxi Park afternoon
Sunday morning I had a shoot so Peter took the kids to Magic Kingdom before I caught up with them, and the PhotoPass of the three of them on Haunted Mansion gives me life! I think that’ll be the back of our holiday card this year 🙂 We stayed until around noon and then called it (because HOT!), and once again made our way to Boxi Park for one last hoorah for the weekend.
We left Disney (with a sunburn) and made our way to Boxi Park that afternoon. We listened to live music, grabbed another box of Dochi Donuts because they are so good, and we also tried Claw & Order’s tempura lobster roll- it was delicious! Eloise got her signature chips and guac, and the kids danced to the live music. It was such a great wind-down from a wild weekend!
… and that was our fun-filled weekend! We had so much fun with friends and finding new places, and we can’t wait to do it all again next weekend!
Boxi Park, we’re coming for you!
