It’s Monday, and I don’t know about you, but I feel like Friday was like five minutes ago. This weekend went by way too quickly! Here’s a quick recap of our fun-filled weekend in Oxford and Memphis.
Ole Miss baseball season opener on Friday was so much fun! Elizabeth and I spent our Friday afternoon watching Ole Miss play Florida International’s baseball team (we won!). The day couldn’t have been prettier, and the weather couldn’t have been any better. Hello 60-degree temps! This year’s forecast? Lots of beer showers (I’ll write a post on the famous outfield beer showers soon… they’re so much fun to watch!).
Peter and I took Walter to the Memphis zoo on Saturday and the weather was perfect; so good that Le Le the panda was out of his day room and outside on the beautiful day! Walter kept waving at Le Le, and I’d like to think he’s waving back at W on the left photo. We can all dream, right? Walter loves the pandas at the Memphis zoo, and this was such a treat to see Le Le outside. To add to the panda excitement, we took Walter to see his first movie (!!!) Kung Fu Panda 3 on Sunday, and it was absolutely adorable! Toddler wiggles made watching the movie a little bit of a challenge, but overall I think he did really well in the theater.
The garden roses at Whole Foods are welcoming spring and the price per bunch was unbelievable! I had to pick up a few bouquets, because at $5.99 per bouquet was unreal (and the pink rose colors are so beautiful, and they smell wonderful) and I needed to add some color to our home. Our bedside tables now have a pop of pink, and I love it!
I added a few more photos to our gallery wall this weekend, and I’m trying to fill in the gaps that someone (ahem, Walter) has created. Who knew little two-year-old hands could remove frames from a wall! Side note, we use the Command velcro ahdesive mounts for every frame because it’s easy to mount and easy to remove, and there are no nails involved. I added a few frames with our Valentine’s Day card and holiday card, and I’m keeping the “I love you” bunting on the wall as a permanent fixture… sorry Peter! Pictured above, you can find our save-the-date, our moving announcement to San Antonio (I drew myself!), Walter’s first checkup photo, Walter’s first birthday at Big Bad Breakfast, W’s first trip to the Blue Bell factory in Texas… you can see the trend here! Any meaningful note or letter sent to Walter has been framed, and it makes our gallery wall that much more special to us.
We baked s’mores brownies on Sunday, but sadly they didn’t turn out as pretty as I thought (thanks, Pinterest). I’ll be tweaking the recipe to make them look a little more photo-friendly this week.
… And that’s our weekend in photos! This week is going to be a fun one, and Peter and I are counting down the days for a fun little present we gave each other for Valentine’s Day. Stay tuned for all the exciting details!
