Happy Friday friends! I’ve always felt like Memorial Day weekend is the kickoff to summer, and also the perfect time to pick out new summer outfits on sale! Earlier this week I made a visit to Old Navy because **new arrivals** and I had a hunch that there would be a big Memorial Day sale, and I was right! Old Navy is having 50% most of their styles and offering an additional 20% off your online order, no code needed! Here are some of the pieces I tried on, and several came home with me 🙂 As a quick reference, I’m a 14-16, XL, 40C.
Sleeveless Ruffle-Trim Button-Front Blouse $30 // Raw-Edge Cropped Flare Jeans $19.97
This top is absolutely adorable, and I love the button front! I grabbed the top in an XL, although I should’ve grabbed the large because it was so roomy. I undid the bottom two buttons to knot the top and I honestly think I prefer styling it like this than leaving it loose! At first I wasn’t a huge fan of these jeans, but after pairing them with the tied ruffle top I was hooked! These jeans run small, so be sure to size up.
Wrap-Front Linen-Blend Top $20 // Raw-Edge Cropped Flare Jeans $19.97
This wrap front linen blend top was hands down one of my favorites that I tried on! The sleeves are what really sold it, and I can’t wait to wear this in Miami. There is a hidden snap that can give more bust coverage, but my strapless bra was having none of it (haha!) and the XXL was way too big. I grabbed an XL, it runs true to size but I would size up if you have a larger chest.
Wrap-Front Side-Tie Top $24 // Raw-Edge Flare Jeans $19.97
This side-tie wrap top was tiny, like barely-able-to-tie-it tiny. At first I thought it was mislabeled, but nope! The daisy print is very cute and while I liked the silhouette, I couldn’t even attempt to snap the hidden snap for extra bust coverage. You’ll definitely want to size up in this top at least one size.
Sleeveless Button-Front Top $15 // Mid-Rise Distressed Boyfriend Denim Cut Offs $15
This yellow floral sleeveless top came home with me because it had “overalls material” written all over it! I never thought I could wear denim shorts (NEWS FLASH: still can’t! haha) but the mid-rise distressed shorts were worth trying on for sure! I grabbed the yellow floral top in a large, and the shorts in a 16.
Striped Button-Front Linen-Blend Jumpsuit $20
I’m always drawn to jumpsuits and I loved the linen blend stripes, but the sizing was a little off on this one. I tried on an XL in this photo to eliminate the baggy rear-end, but when I tried on the large the top was too tight- even the fake buttons were starting to pull! Sadly, the buttons aren’t functional 🙁 Go give it a try in store, what do you have to lose?
Fit & Flare Gingham Midi Dress $20 // Fit & Flare Midi Dress PLUS $21.50
This gingham dress was a YES before I even tried it on, and I’m even wearing it now as I type this! I grabbed this in a large, and thanks to the smocked back, it’s a great “feel good” dress and the pattern is just so HAPPY! This is a must-get!
Square-Neck Button-Front Midi Dress $26.50 // Square-Neck Button-Front Midi Dress PLUS $26.50
Love, love, LOVE! This button-front dress was at the front of the store and grabbed a large in the hopes that it would fit… and it did! The strapless bra I was wearing made the top a little snug, but I tried it on again at home with a different one and it was the perfect fit. I can’t wait to wear this with a denim jacket for date night! Run run RUN and grab this dress!
Fit & Flare Ruffle-Trim Cami Dress $20 // Fit & Flare Ruffle-Trim Cami Dress PLUS $19
I really liked this fit and flare dress, especially the ruffle top! The straps are elastic so they can be worn off the shoulder, and the skirt has great swing movement. I grabbed an XL and it fit perfectly, and I can’t wait to pair it with some lace-up espadrilles!
Waist-Defined Wrap-Front Gingham Midi Dress $22.50 // Tie-Belt Wrap-Front Gingham Midi Dress PLUS $24
This wrap dress is the perfect dupe for the j.crew faux-wrap dress and 1/6th of the price! I love the ruffle sleeve, and this dress was a YES as soon as I put it on. I grabbed an XL 🙂
Sleeveless Bow-Tie Front Chambray Jumpsuit $20
Knotted front jumpsuit + chambray = PERFECTION! I got the XL and there is plenty of room in the stomach (my problem area) and the ankle length is just right for a pair of sandals or espadrilles! My only drawback is that this could wrinkle a bit, but I’m willing to risk it 🙂
Daisy Print Linen-Blend Tie-Hem No-Peek Shirt PLUS $35 // Raw Edge Flare Jeans $19.97
This red floral top made me fall in love with these jeans! This button down is knotted (it’s how it was designed!) but I undid the bottom button to make the top work with these high-waist jeans. I grabbed an XL in the top, but could’ve easily done a large with the no-shoulder-hem sleeve.
Waist-Defined Wrap-Front Midi Dress $22.50 // Tie-Belt Wrap-Front Dress PLUS $24
Old Navy’s prints are on point this summer! This is the same silhouette as the gingham dress (above), and this came home with me too 🙂 The XL was the perfect size for me, so it runs true to size.
Waist-Defined Sleeveless Tie-Front Cami Jumpsuit $20 // Sleeveless Plus-Size Tie-Front Jumpsuit $21.50
Another jumpsuit tried on, and another jumpsuit in my shopping bag! This is the exact same style as the chambray jumpsuit (above) with a smocked back, and this purchase was a no-brainer. I paired it with a denim jacket and heeled sandals when I got home (because #fashionshow) and fell in love with it even more. At $20, everyone needs this!

Wishing you a happy Memorial Day weekend!
While the shopping deals and sales are great and the barbecue parties are fun, Memorial Day is about remembering those who have fallen protecting our country. Thank you to those who served and paid the ultimate price for our freedom. You are never, ever forgotten.
