It’s here! It’s heeeeere!! I am so thrilled to share my amazing, incredible, (insert-every-superlative here) Ritani ring! This blog post is filled with diamonds, diamonds, and more diamonds (no, really), and I am still in shock over the stunning facelift that my engagement ring has had.
I’ve always been particular on my jewelry, and my daily go-to pieces have significant meaning to each piece. My nail bracelet represents my “tough as nails” strength through our miscarriages and infertility journey, my two sapphire bands represent Walter and Eloise (my “push” presents), my eternity band was my first Mother’s Day gift, my tennis bracelet was a gift from Peter for supporting him through his masters programs and his rotations, and my engagement ring and wedding band are, well, we all know what those are for! Haha.
Peter and I had decided a few months ago that we wanted to upgrade my engagement ring to a new setting to signify our marriage’s journey since Eloise was born. While we kept it private, in 2017, three months after Eloise was born, our marriage had taken a nosedive. Eloise’s conditions had us putting our relationship on the back burner, and at one point it was so bad that divorce had been considered. It was awful. Luckily, with counseling and learning to trust again, we made it through a dark time and today our marriage is stronger than ever! It’s been a wild ride, but I love him more than the day he asked me to be his wife.
When Peter and I had been looking at engagement rings years ago, I remember I had tried on several Ritani rings and I had heart eyes for every one of them- they were stunning! Peter ended up choosing a ring from a company that was being liquidated and ended up choosing my three-stone engagement ring. I had never tried on a three-stone ring, but goodness, it was love at first sight! Even three weeks ago (and we got engaged years ago!), I would look down at my hand and ask, “is this really mine?!”. The engagement ring had a simple band that held the three stones, and the simplicity was beautiful.
When Peter and I decided that we wanted to upgrade the setting of my engagement ring, I started looking online (hello Pinterest and Instagram!) and stumbled on a photo of a Ritani ring. Instantly I remembered the rings I had tried on years ago and knew that Ritani was the company I wanted to use for such a special project. I scoured their website for hours, and decided on what I had envisioned. I knew I wanted to keep my three stones from my original engagement ring and add them to a three stone halo setting, and I knew it was going to be beautiful. Y’all, I couldn’t have even imagined what Ritani created, and it is just breathtaking.
I sent an email to Ritani back in December and was given an associate who helped me create a custom engagement ring setting that was unique to my diamonds, and unique from anything they had on their website. Ideas were bounced back and forth, contracts were signed, and within two weeks my ring was sent off to the Ritani headquarters for its facelift. It was so exciting!
My associate was incredible, and she kept me updated on my ring’s status and even sent me progression photos and how my setting was being made. I had no idea it took this much work! A 3D wax print is made of the ring design, and the print is then put on a wax tree. The wax tree is then placed into a form, plaster is poured around it and bakes in an oven overnight. While in the oven, the wax melts away and an empty cavity in the shape of the rings is left. Next, liquid metal is poured into the cavity and hardens. Once finished, the plaster mould is broken away, and only the rings are left on the tree. The diamonds are then set into the ring, then the ring is polished and examined thoroughly before being sent back (to meee!!). The photos below show how my ring was made from start to finish, and getting updates on it was always the highlight of every day!
My engagement ring’s “vacation”, as Peter called it, lasted two weeks from the day I dropped it off at FedEx to the day I received it in hand, and while it felt like it was gone forever, it was SO WORTH IT for this absolutely stunning ring. Ritani made my dream ring come true, and it’s more than I could’ve ever imagined, seriously! I still cannot believe it’s mine. Ritani created a French-set diamond halo setting as a custom for my original engagement ring diamonds, with diamonds accenting the band annnnnd on the sides of the ring- Ritani took this to the next level, and I’m head over heels in love. IN LOVE. I’m even staring at my ring right now as I type, and cannot believe it’s mine.
Soooo… here it is! This is MY Ritani ring (cue squealing)!
I am officially a Ritani girl, and goodness I’m so happy I’m able to say that! Peter and I agree that doing this upgrade was one of the best decisions we made in terms of jewelry; we kept the original diamonds from my engagement ring while creating something that had so much meaning already and added more meaning to it (and sparkle too!). Now I look at my ring and see that Peter and I made it through the tough times, we made it through Eloise’s critical conditions as an infant, and that our love is stronger than ever. It also serves as a beautiful reminder that our marriage needs to come first, always. Always.
If you have questions about my ring’s journey with Ritani and how we chose the setting, please don’t hesitate to email me at hello@faisonanne.com. I will be happy to answer any questions, and will be happy to share more photos 🙂 Don’t think this will be the last time you see my ring, I’ll be shamelessly posting photos of it for the rest of my life because, well, who wouldn’t?!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, and I’ll be back here on Monday sharing our fun weekend with my parents in town! Hint: there’s a lot of Disney involved 🙂
xoxo
